Small Farm Spotlight - Triple B Farm
During the fall season, many families want to get outside before it becomes fully winter. But playgrounds and parks can feel a bit overdone after too many visits. However small farms are great places to spend time in the outdoors while also supporting your local community. This spotlight series will give small farms a voice amongst the big corporations they often have to share the lime light with. Triple B Farms is located in Pittsburgh PA and is a poplar place for families to visit. The address is at 823 Berry Lane, Monongahela, PA. Even on an overcast day the farm had a crowd of visitors, all looking forward to seeing what it has to offer.

Triple B Farm with their visitors
The farm has multiple activities for families and children including a giant slide, a bounce pillow and corn mazes. They have food trucks from over small business which have great food and desserts. Apple cider donuts, homemade drinks and fresh made fries are only some of what you can eat there. Many went to pick their pumpkins during October. But even with Halloween being over, they still have u-pick flowers to make beautiful bouquets during the holiday season! You pick them by filling a bucket and anything that fits in it will be your flowers. And after yo’ve finished your donuts you’ll wander uphill and see…goats!
These goats have a large space to roam, including their own climbing structure! Although the goats were all on the ground to meet greet their paparazzi by the fence. Visitors can feed them for a quarter in a machine. These goats love the free snacks and wander up to eat out of your hand! Some rested under the climbing structure while others tried a taste of fallen leaf. While many people had gone to visit them they didn’t feel crowded as they had many places to roam. It was clear they had distinct personalties and presences around their space. One goat loved his picture taken, trying different poses for the camera. Another one preferred to monitor the others with her legs tucked under like a cat.
